Lately the National Football League is trying to put themselves out of business. Most diehard fans already think the NFL is getting soft. Now the owners and Commissioner Goodell are trying to change how a running back has been taught to run since the first time he put on a helmet. The latest proposal is a running back cannot lead with head outside the tackle box the proposed rule would penalize a player 15 yards.
What the heck is this League coming too? Quarterbacks are already protected more than the President of The United States. Cornerbacks can’t touch a wide receiver after 5 yards and referees seem to always be wrong since the invention of instant replay.
The NFL wants to make all these changes while the player has been playing one way since grade school. The League needs to start by having Muny League, Jr. High school, and High school coaches sit in and start implementing these changes in their programs. Changing a kid’s game by the time they make it to the “BIG TIME” only hurts the player. I loved the NFL in the 80’s and 90’s now it seems every time my favorite player on my favorite team makes a big hit I don’t celebrate I’m looking for the flag. Follow me @kenyonjsports
