Former Shaker Heights athlete De’Niro Laster will be starting a new chapter in his sports career, most of the time this happens when a star athlete graduates from his school and moves on to play at the college level. Laster has not only drawn interest from college programs he has also had a very popular coach in the Cleveland area gain interest in him. Laster has decided to take his talents to Cleveland Heights High School, which is Shaker Heights High School’s main rival. Fall of 2012 Laster will no longer be suiting up in Red and White.
Its official Laster is a Tiger now and will embrace the Black and Gold colors. After playing all the way through his junior season at Shaker Heights where the Raiders went 2-8, Laster decided to go with a change of scenery and take his talents down Lee Road to Cleveland Heights who had the best record that they’ve ever had at 10-0 this past season. Laster’s athletic talent will be missed at Shaker, but will definitely be put to use at Cleveland Heights. Laster is a kid who plays both sides of the ball and can play multiple positions. He can be a threat at the wide receiver or tight end position with his 6 foot 3 inch frame, he can also run the 40 yard dash in 4.6 seconds. On the defensive side of things he can hurt your team at the linebacker position with his speed and size. With all the new additions look out for Cleveland Heights to win their league and make a deeper run in the playoffs next season.
